Pune based DB Power Electronics Pvt. Ltd. has been adjudged the SD’s No.2 Power Electronic Company in the country for the year 2009-2010. The total turnover of the company was 212.00 crores which was around 20% less then the previous years turnover of 265.00 crores which the company achieved in 2008-2009. However the sales have gone up by 35% in first quarter of 2010-2011. DB still continues to be SD’s No.2 Online UPS manufacturer in the country and that too by a huge margin.

DB became part of Chloride Group before last year, However Chloride (Worldwide) has now been taken over by Emerson. How all these will impact the global market remains to be seen.

The company operates through a network of 42 branches 24 Distributors in India and 5 abroad manned by 672 employees. DB is one the few Indian Companies to have a full fledged R&D setup with a team of over 40 Engineers involved in the development of Hardware & Requisite Software in the field of Power Electronics. The highlight of this years work has been its commissioning of Seismic complaint 500 kVA UPS for Nuclear Power Application. The company is also the proud recipient of Enertia Award for best technology in Solar Grid connected Inverter. The company had a total installed capacity of 62 MVA in 2009-2010. Major orders from Barclays Bank worth 1.80 Crores, 2.56 Crores, Standard Charted Bank 2.65 Crores, Internal & External project at IBM worth 7.7 Crores and a major order at Satyam worth 7.57 Crores. The company is getting good response for customized DB products in neighboring countries as well as in Middle East.
