Thrissur, Kerala based Hykon India Pvt. Ltd. has been adjudged the SD’s No. 10 Power Electronic Company in the country for the year 2010-2011. The total turnover of the company was 56.49 crores up from 41.90 crores in 2009-2010, a stupendous growth of just over 34.82%. This performance is laudable, as this growth rate synonymous with others in Top 10 club.

Hykon, an ISO 9001:2000 company, is a pioneering presence in the field of power electronics with varied interests in Medical transcription, Information Technology, Solar Energy and so forth. Mr. Christo George, a committed and dedicated technocrat, set it up in 1991. A small unit with a working capital of Rs 50,000 and only five employees, it was a real humble start for an Engineering graduate. Under his able stewardship the company has made rapid strides. Now Hykon is a multi-crore turn over company that directly employs more than 400 employees.

Hykon has been approved of DS&DG rate contract and has also won a National award in 1998 for the quality of its products. At Hykon, lot of emphasis is given on quality of the product. Every component is subjected to rigorous tests at the incoming stage itself, regular checks are carried out at various stages of manufacturing. Every facet of manufacturing is carried out in-house and nothing is vended out. Thus ensuring a high quality end-product.

This year the company has been successful in getting order from Technoparks, Cochin special Economicc zone, Vodafone, Idea, Basnl, BPL, Reliance, Keltron, HCL, Muthoot etc. Major Govt., Banking sector & PSUs like CSB, IOM, SIB, SBT, BOB, Cooperative banks, Southern Railway, South Central Railway, South Western Railway, ISRO, DRDO, DRDL, NTPC, ONGC, NIA, Airforce Acadamy among others. Major orders include Rs. 2.80 crores order from IT@Schools, Rs. 1.60 crores order from Airforce Bidar, Rs. 1.76 crores order from Kerala Water Authority etc.

The company has technology tie-up with CDAC for UPQC.
