Bangalore based WeP Peripherals Ltd. with a UPS turnover of 21.26 Crores up from 18.34 crores it had in 2007-08. Making it the second largest and the SD’s No.2 Offline/Line-interactive UPS company of the year.

This achievement can considered good in these recessive times and taking into account that WeP’s UPS revenues have dropped by nearly 44% in 2007-08. Here we see a growth of nearly 16%.

The company has abandoned its Top.UPS product as it could not take of as expected primarily because of higher pricing and more importantly the shift in the user mind set towards Online UPS System. This year WeP sold 114,730 units of offline UPS.

WeP Peripherals Ltd. has a huge network comprising of 19 branches and 268 dealers and distributors which
accounts for 98% of its sales while OEMs like LG, Zenith, Wipro, HCL & Samsung etc account for another remaining 2%. There is reasoning behind this that only 2% is OEM as more & more corporate and SME’s are moving towards online.

WeP which rules the roost with its Special, Super and ECO brand of line-interactive UPS’s has now ventured in to the Online segment with it Wolt range of Online UPS, currently doing up to 10 kVA but have plans in place to move up the rating ladder.

Simultaneously the company has strengthened its R&D expertise on the Power Electronics Area and has developed their own firmware for the UPS. Currently under testing, this will provide the company with necessary platform for scaling up their designs beyond 10 kVA category to address corporate Medium
business customers need. With this added range the company is sure to surge ahead in the coming year.
